Neel Preet: First of all, Big Congratulations to you Miss Anandita on your debut book, “My First Adventure” well, you’ve achieved something remarkably huge at a very young age! So, what are your expectations from this book of yours? Please share your experience about this book.
Anandita Kulhar: Thank you, sir. My expectations are the same as other author’s but I want that the readers must remember their friends and the happy times. This book tells you about the fun of having a true friend .I really enjoyed writing it and want readers to enjoy it too. Talking about experience it was something new, I self-boosted myself at the points where I just want to tear it up. But I enjoyed it.
Neel Preet: I’ve read your book which I had genuinely enjoyed, so my next question to you is that what inspired you to write this book at such a young age? What was the impetus behind this work of yours?
Anandita Kulhar: I read a novel of Benjamin Alire Sáenz which I enjoyed a lot and wanted to read a story of friends so following Toni Morrison’s quote “If there’s a book which you want to read, but hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.” The impetus behind it were trust on myself, late night’s and zero appreciation of my work from other’s. But I kept going and wrote it.
Neel Preet: You have given an interesting title to your book, which is undoubtedly very catchy too; So,what made you go for this particular title for your book?
Anandita Kulhar: Actually there was nothing planned to keep it as my title. I just decided to keep my first work as “My first Adventure.” Like writing this book was also adventurous and this was given on the very first day of writing.
Neel Preet: While reading your book, I sensed that you’ve focused a lot upon the ‘Bond of Friendship’ in the plot, so could you please discuss the reason of showing such a beautiful bond of friendship in your debut book, with your readers.
Anandita Kulhar: Friendship is a topic which I feel must be expressed, as in today’s world most of the teens are just rushing for success and competing with their own friends, but true friendship isn’t about competing, it is above that. Every relation can’t be blood related; it can be formed by talking and enjoying. The people who have loyal and understanding friends are god blessed!
Neel Preet: These days a lot of young writers are coming out with their books but most of them are making their debut with Poetry, so my question to you is that why did you choose to write short-stories? And why not Poetry, as that seems to be more common among the Authors of your age too?
Anandita Kulhar: Yes, poetry is quite common but in reality I don’t enjoy it much as I feel that when a person read’s a poet’s words they might not get the correct essence or meaning which the poet wants to convey and there could be a mix-up of different thoughts. Stories on the other hand take me to another world. I enjoy reading and writing them.
Neel Preet: Your stories have some really strong emotions and mysteries inside them, which had greatly impressed me and thus I would like you to explain your readers, the reason for choosing such a subject matter for your book!
Anandita Kulhar: Teenage is an age in which neither we are children nor adults. We are on the border where we crossed childhood and are entering adulthood. During this we get confused and there are a lot of mysteries and stuff to know, like we all are just stuck in a maze. By choosing this I want to showcase the dark, lonely and scary side of this age. The dark lonely, haunted road, you are in a way fighting with your own self.
Neel Preet: Miss Anandita your writing seemed to be really impeccable and you were bold with your stories in your book, which I really appreciate. Therefore, I want you to tell us about some of those writers, who had inspired you and whom you follow!
Anandita Kulhar: Thank you. Some of the writer’s I follow and enjoy are Enid Blyton, James Patterson, Benjamin Alire Sáenz and Neil Gaiman.
Neel Preet: Is there any message which you would like to convey to your readers? Or any piece of advice, which you would like to give to the readers out there!
Anandita Kulhar: To all the readers I just want that you must not read it for the sake of reading you must feel it and remember all your beloved friends and you must never ever betray them at any crucial or dramatic situation as they are always ready to help you out. Friendship is a great gift that is received by everyone but the best friend is given to the most pure hearten person.
Neel Preet: Are there any other books being worked by you? Please let us know about your future projects as well.
Anandita Kulhar: Yes, I am currently editing another story and trying poetry.
Neel Preet: Thank you so much for answering all my questions. All the very best to you for future and your book too!
Anandita Kulhar: My pleasure to answer you. Sincere Thanks for your wishes.
