Neel Preet: First of all, Big Congratulations to you Miss Mohini on your debut book, “JOVIAL SOMBRE” well, you’ve achieved something remarkably huge at a very young age! So, what are your expectations from this book of yours? Please share your experience about this book.

Mohini Sharma: Firstly, thanks a lot Neel. Now, since it’s my debut book so I don’t expect much, though I do hope that the audience likes and connects with my poetry. Speaking about my experience of writing this book, the book was totally unplanned. I never planned to write a book. I just wrote poems and I was just going through all my poems one day and while reading the poems it felt as if I was reading a story through poems. So this book just happened.

Neel Preet: I’ve read your book and I genuinely feel that it’s a wonderful collection of “Romantic & Emotional Poems” so my next question to you is that what inspired you to write these poems? What was the impetus behind this work of yours?

Mohini Sharma: What inspired me was basically experience and some of the thoughts that were stuck in my subconscious mind which I couldn’t speak or talk to someone about. And I desperately needed to let go of some things. So that desperation to let it all out led to me writing poems and then gradually this book.

Neel Preet: You have given an interesting title to your Poetry-Collection Book, which is undoubtedly very catchy too; so, what made you go for this particular title for your book?

Mohini Sharma: My poetry is about love. And love, just like anything else in this world, has its own highs and lows. And the title of my book is JOVIAL SOMBRE where Jovial means happy and Sombre means sad. Now since my book itself is a journey of love and all the joy and agony experienced, so therefore the name chosen was JOVIAL SOMBRE.

Neel Preet: While reading your book, I sensed that your poems are conveying some message and if so, then could you please discuss that with your readers.

Mohini Sharma: Every form of literature conveys some kind of message. Now the message that I want to convey through my poems is that loving someone is beautiful. But love is not always vanilla ice-creams and chocolate candies. Sometimes love tastes like the hot wasabi and other times it might taste like red wine. And we need to remember that vanilla, wasabi, wine or anything else; all the parts have their own significance and we gotta cherish all of it.

Neel Preet: These days a lot of young writers are coming out with their books but only a few of them come out with ‘Poetry’ which I believe is a bold step so, my next question to you is that why did you choose Poetry to express yourself? And why not Short-Stories when that too could have served the purpose?

Mohini Sharma: Poetry is subtle. And I feel that subtlety gives the readers a lot of space for imagination. So that’s a plus point of poetry and the exact motive of me going for poems.

Neel Preet: Your poems had some really strong emotions and stories inside them, which had greatly impressed me and thus I would like you to explain the overall theme of your book!

Mohini Sharma: Like I’ve already mentioned so many times about love and happiness and the agony; if we compile all of it and try to come to a conclusion so basically the main theme revolves around the plot twists and the transitions that occur not only in the journey of my book, but also in the journey of life.

Neel Preet: Miss Mohini your writing seemed to be really impeccable and you were bold with your poems in your book, which I really appreciate. Therefore, I want you to tell us about some of those writers, who had inspired you and whom you follow!

Mohini Sharma: Some of the poets which I really appreciate and admire are William Shakespeare, Atticus, Robert Frost and Rupi Kaur.

Neel Preet: Is there any message which you would like to convey to your readers? Or any piece of advice, which you would like to give to the readers out there!

Mohini Sharma: Yes of-course. The only message that I’d like to convey to my readers is that be good humans and love. Love everyone because the universe is made of love and I personally feel that love is the strongest of all emotions. It has the power to hold everything together or tear everything apart.

Neel Preet: Are there any other books being worked by you? Please let us know about your future projects.

Mohini Sharma: Yes, I’m currently working on a novel named “THE FALL OF 2019”, which is in the romance and young adult genre. It is likely to release by October 2021.

Neel Preet: Thank you so much for answering all my questions. All the very best to you for future and your book too!

Mohini Sharma: Thank you so much.
